1st day – Arrival in la Garrotxa · Settle down in a 4**** hotel in la Vall de Bianya. Visit a baker. Guided visit and bread workshop in a bakery in la Garrotxa. Learn what it’s like to be a baker and how to make your own bread – which you’ll then take home.
2nd day – Breakfast of local products. Guided walk through the beautiful Vall d’Hortmoier – Alta Garrotxa. You’ll learn about the story of the three oaks, visit the Romanesque hermitage of Sant Miquel and be stunned by some charming sites. This small valley lies between the well-known villages of Beget and Oix. Picnic lunch. Afternoon: free time to visit the picturesque village of Beget. Dinner in a 2-star Michelin restaurant in Olot.
3rd day – Breakfast of local products. Ecocycling. A guided excursion on electric bikes through la Vall d’en Bas. Visit a local artisan cheese producer, where you’ll be able to learn the skills and processes involved in producing fresh cow cheese. Afterwards, showcooking and lunch at an agrotourism rural house. Experience the process of cooking a meal with local products, whilst interacting with the chef and enjoying the wonderful surroundings with beautiful views of the valley. Dinner and accommodation in a 4 **** hotel.
4th day – Balloon f light over La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. Catalan breakfast with local products. Guided walk through the beech forest and the volcanoes. Enjoy a snack of local products inside the crater of the Santa Margarida volcano. Walk through the heart of the Volcanic Zone Natural Park, discovering the magnificent volcano, el Croscat, and listening to silence inside the beech forest (La Fageda d’en Jordà). Free time to visit the medieval town of Santa Pau. Dinner in a restaurant in Olot that will offer Volcanic Cuisine.
5th day – Breakfast. Chocolate workshop and tasting in a centenary bakery in Olot. Learn how to manipulate chocolate and make chocolate bars and truff les. Trip to Girona. Visit Girona. Optional: A guided cultural tour that takes you around the emblematic sites in the city. If you have a sweet tooth we recommend you try one of the local renowned chefs (Roca brother’s) ice creams or a Xuixo, a local viennoiserie pastry. Dinner in a restaurant. Accommodation in Girona.
6th day – Breakfast · Departure to Barcelona airport.
*Optional an extra day to visit the Costa Brava and get a taste of The Empordà Wine route. Visit a local winery near El Cap de Creus. A guided visit to the vineyard and cellar with wine and cava tasting accompanied by a traditional Empordà lunch.
