Shepherd for a day

Do you want to enjoy a day in the middle of nature and discover a traditional skill? Come to La Garrotxa to spend a weekend and you can become a shepherd for a day. You will get to know the animals; goats and sheep, as well as the cheese shop. We will visit the pen, feed and get close to the animals – learning how they live and what they eat. We will also learn how to milk a goat by hand. An experience to be enjoyed by families, couples or a group of friends.

 

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights  

Price: from 455,00 €/per person (double room) Minimum: 2 people

Detailed Itinerary:

1st  day  Arrival at La Garrotxa. Dinner and accommodation at a rural tourism
house in the Vall d’en Bas.

 

2nd  day – Local product-based breakfast in the accommodation. Electric bicycle tour through the Vall d’en Bas landscape. We will be a shepherd for a day at Riudaura. We will visit the cheese shop where we’ll discover the process of cheese-making and tasting. Picnic lunch with local and organic products. Dinner and accommodation in the rural tourism house.

 

3rd  day – Breakfast and balloon-f light over the Natural Park of the Garrotxa  Volcanic Zone. Local produce-based lunch. Guided visit to a dairy farm to learn about the process of milk production, animal pasture and milking. Tasting of dairy products. Departure.
