El Jardín del Convento

El Jardín del Convento in Convento de Hervás Square was built in the middle of the 19th century as a family home and continued to be one until it was converted into shared accommodation at the end of the 20th century.

The house was renovated between 1999 and 2001 but has almost completely respected the original layout, keeping the traditional symmetrical distribution of the rooms, the size of the bedrooms and hallways, and the height of the ceilings. The thick stone perimeter walls have been left exposed in some areas inside the house, as well as most of the original structure, built out of chestnut wood from our forests and perfectly preserved. Thanks to its position, it has great heat and sound insulation.

The garden is approximately 1000 m2 and has kept the original layout with 100-year-old boxwood hedges.

We are founding members of the Balozano Association for protecting the environment in the region of Ambroz.
We follow organic farming practices in the house’s garden and vegetable garden and we make compost with the vegetable waste generated in the accommodation. We use mulch created with a bio-shredder.
We’re committed to local products and hire companies based in our area.
