The valleys in the Alpujarra region are the perfect example of how human beings had to manage water to survive: ponds, careo or discharge canals, acequías (“irrigation canals”) and hazas (plots of arable land) were designed for this purpose. We will visit on foot the so-called “Arteries of Life”.
We will walk through the Poqueira Ravine to get to know its culture and Arabian heritage thanks to its villages, irrigation canals, corners, stories and breathtaking landscapes.
